Girls ARE interested in SFIV, idiot. I also noticed how conveniently Miyuki was not featured at all in the photographs save for the piddly interview video at the end and she was the goddamn winner. Because she's overweight? I wouldn't doubt it. Shallow fucks.

everyone had a choice to be photographed or not.
we were also doing it before the tourney and some girls arrived there too late but in time for the tourney. we wish we could have photographed everyone but some chose not to.

Personally, I can see the value of having a women only tournament, but I think having a photoshoot sort of diminishes the seriousness of the tournament. Sure, it builds hype, but what does it have to do with pushing buttons and playing video games?

Stacy on behalf of the AI zoo I'll ask you kindly to please not feed the trolls :) Which he clearly is, as even the shallow can agree there's some lookers. Trust me you are all a welcome change of pace from the usual SF4 players we're used to seeing with a half week of stubble...

This whole idea gives me lots of mixed feelings. My first reaction was "it's a freaking videogame, it doesn't require physical strength so why separate girls from guys?". I mean, girls aren't inherently worse by nature in hitting buttons and I've always taken great offense when some guy takes me lightly just because I'm a girl.
Then I realized this isn't really EVO and it's more of a "for kicks" kind of thing cause it's not like girls -aren't- invited to EVO, so okay maybe it's not bad at all. If it helps motivate more girls to get into SF then that's of course great; the more players the merrier, gender be damned! And I'm sure we have tons of untapped gaming potential in girls in this world. These kind of things encourage more girls to play and will in turn lead to more girls in "real" tournaments (not talking down on Miyuki's victory here, really not :) language barrier and all; I just don't know how else to word myself).
Wish I could've joined myself, but Sweden's quite a bit away I'm afraid!
If there's another one coming up later I'd skip the photoshoot though, no matter if it's optional or not. It only strengthens the feel that having girls playing is something exotic and that girls should be showed off - in other words I find it kinda unprofessional and sexist. Of course, since it was all optional, I'm not gonna complain all too much, it's just a little feeling I get somewhere deep inside.. :P
so whens the next tourny? are all these girls regulars?? btw you looked real cute in that outfit Sherryjenix! do you come to AI often?
