Notes:

Congrats to ComboJack for winning another one! For those keeping track, he's won 3 out of 4 tourneys this season. Also, Mike Ross used Blanka for one game in Grand Finals, congrats to him for making Grand Finals for the first time this season! This is Evil Elvis' first time placing Top 8 at an AI Ranbat so high five to him.

In order for Jack to not win the season, Keno must win the next two Ranbats and Jack must be kept out of Top 8 completely. Jack has almost ensured the season's victory last night. At best, Ken can tie it up with two wins if Jack doesn't make Top 8. Both scenarios are highly unlikely though, so pre-congrats to Jack for most likely winning Season 3! :pray:

Standard Stuff First

2/3 games in winners and losers
3/5 games in grand finals (unless 2/3 by choice)
$5 entry ($1 will NOT be taken this time to a bigger pot, winner with most points WILL get a special prize though)

ALL RanBats will start NO LATER THAN 2:00 pm, if you arrive after that don't be surprised if you are sent to losers bracket first match
FOR ALL RANBATS YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER ONLINE. Upon announcing a new ranbat day, a pre-reg page will go up.
The pre-reg page will be posted at a specific time (TBD each time). Making if fair for all registrants

There will be console set up on site as a 3rd SF4 set up. If you do NOT wish to play on it LET US KNOW, we'll do our best to accommodate you. Feel free to bring your own stick as well. Also no console characters, sorry guys!

Special SF4 Invitational Tournament @ Arcade Infinity - JUNE 27th

Introducing the Street Fighter Event of the Summer.

Welcome to THE LADIES OF STREET FIGHTER 4. Sixteen of your favorite socal SF4 players have been training sixteen ladies for what might be the girliest Street Fighter Tournament in the history of Street Fighter.

LOSF will consist of a Photo shoot at the Arcade, video interviews conducted by Gootecks, with Special guests.

Tournament will be Single Elimination, no entry fee, prizes to be determined.

The event will take place Saturday June 27 (5PM) at Arcade Infinity.

Tentative Schedule:

5pm - 8pm - Photo shoot with Video Interviews, meet and greet the Contestants.

9pm - ?? - Tournament will begin

You better believe everyone who is anyone will be at Banana Bay afterwards.

Rules:

Ok here it gets a little more intricate. A lot of details will be covered so read carefully.

Due to hardware constraints, we HAVE to cap the bracket at 16 teams. No one gets a bye. 32 teams is WAY too much. AI almost exploded at 64 people 32x3=96.

Upon the day of the tournament a specific time will be announced to register and PAY for your team. In order to secure your team's spot be on time and ready. I WILL NOT accept your registration if you and your entire team are "on their way" it is unfair to those on time. I'll give plenty of notice (about 15 min-30 min) and will try my hardest not to dick you. Just don't dick me. No homo.

Keep your character. PERIOD

Sets will be done POKEMON style, 1 game each.

Critical Notice for Warriors new to the Ranbat!

We have a request of anyone who will be attending their first Ranbat this Sunday (Mar.22).

PLEASE SHOW UP EARLY. 12PM SHARP.

If you did not partake in any of Season One's tournaments this applies to you. We have something special we want to do and only you new guys are bad enough to help. So tell your folks that the eggs can shove it and that you'll take a rain check on the waffles. When they ask why tell 'em... THE STREETS BE CALLIN'.

Actually, if you can bring some waffles that would be awesome. I'll guarantee* a free ride into top 8 for some waffles. TOP 8! IMAGINE THE FAME!

Denjin Arcade RanBat Series Up!

The good people over at Denjin arcade have announced the start of their RanBat Season. We wanna see everyone at both AI and Denjin ranbats, so get out there and support (hands down) the 2 best arcades in socal.

SF4 and 3s are the main focus (due to SBO quals), but Side tournaments for STHD and BB are possible.

Update on Official Rules for RanBat Season 2

Just wanted to get the official rules on "paper" that will apply for the next 6 ranbats.

Here are the basics

Tournament Maker 2.1 will be used
Double Elimination

2/3 Rounds
2/3 Matches
Grand Finals will STAY 2/3 (unless AI gets another SF4 set)

none of this 3/5

Single Match for Losers Bracket until Top 8
A hard copy of the Bracket will be in circulation (so you don't have to ask me (shoo) to see the bracket every 2 minutes.

Entry Fee will be $5 dollars

$1 of that $5 will go towards another pot for a winner later on.
Money will be held at AI and will never leave.
Pot will be split 70/20/10

Each Ranbat will start roughly at 1pm

Sign ups will start at 12:30pm Outside

Limit 2 balrog players (joking)
Getting hype is mandatory

Welcome back everyone to the SECOND season of The Arcade Infinity RanBat Series.

For the new guys, you might ask:

What is a RanBat? Short for Ranking Battle, a ranbat is a more specialized tournament where the winners of a series of RanBat winners earn points and ranks based on previous tournament placings.

Why should I go? Do these events get a big turn out? Anyone that has ever been to at least TWO of out previous tournaments will tell you we know HYPE. We have the best hype masters in socal. Bebop, Sanchez, Luka are just a few. You want hype lessons? Ask them what's really good. Why should you come? cuz we want you new guys to show us what you've learned the past Month. Fuck online THIS is how street fighter is MEANT to be played. Now get your asses down here and get off the internet.

What time do these usually end? If we start on time and we have a 30-40 turnout we can end around 8 or 9. It is HIGHLY encouraged for everyone to stay for finals.

Are matches recorded? We have a recording system with VOICE commentary (check the video section for examples) we're working on getting back in action. So wait up on that.

Also before I get into the specifics of this season I wanna mention one more thing to all the new guys. I highly encourage everyone to sign up on SHORYUKEN.com and post up in our tournament and arcade threads. Get to know us, were all generally pretty nice guys. Lurking is easy, but when you actually starting meeting most of us you'll have a much better time at the arcade.
